Last Updated: January 29, 2007

Other information related in one way or another to IBOC, is presented on this page.

The Performance page of this web site presents comparative data on IBOC signal reception with varying levels of received signal.

The Status page of this web site depicts the latest status of IBOC mode broadcasting by the southeast Florida AM stations equipped to do so.

The sidebands are different sounding than strong IBOC stations, but have obvious similarities.

A brief .WAV file recording (195kB) of the WFLL broadcast and adjacent sidebands presents the sounds in the sequence:  1400 - 1390 - 1400 - 1410 - 1400

Later monitoring of WFLL when the on channel audio was again working properly found the strange sideband noises no longer present.  These sidebands sounded similar to sounds heard in the aftermath of a hurricane and were likely the result of transmitter malfunction, unrelated to IBOC.
